FAQs

I want to go with you! What do I do?

1

Email us! MWCC visits our director in Kenya every year, but the length and agenda of our trip vary from year to year. If you are interested in joining us, please email us and we will give you a list of average costs and supplies needed.

Who pays for missionaries travel?

2

Missionaries who join us on our trips are all self-funded. MWCC does not pay for anyone to join us on our mission trips. Joining us on a mission can be quite expensive, so it is common (and encouraged!) for prospective missionaries to fund-raise for their expenses.

Donations made to missionaries as part of these fundraisers, or any donations made to MWCC regarding a specific missionary, go solely toward the missionaries' expenses (food, lodging, and travel costs) and do not go toward our work in Kenya.

I make a monthly donation. What does my donation go to?

3

With the exception of postage, 100% of our donations go toward our work in East Africa. This includes everything needed for our property in Kenya (which houses the church, school, our Director in Kenya, conferences, etc)., supplies for ministry events, outreach for spreading the gospel, and whatever current needs are (purchasing diary cows to help feed the orphanage, building a well, etc).

None of the monthly donations cover travel costs for missionaries or U.S. “overhead” costs. All members of staff operate on a volunteer basis and are unpaid.

I can’t travel with you - how else can I get involved?

4

PRAYER is the most important thing you can do for this ministry! Everything is possible with God, and we can always use more prayer over our teams, our pastors, and the churches. Pray for safety, unity, health, and pray against barriers that might get in the way.

If you can’t go- SEND! We have seen a very creative outpouring of support over the years.

Below are some easy ways you can be involved:

  • Financial Donations: Donate to MWCC for the work we do; Donate to missionaries who are fundraising for their travel expenses.

  • Seed drives: Rural areas rely on growing their own food to eat. Bringing fruit and vegetable seeds is a great way we can show love to the community during Path Ministry!

  • Scarf / Tie drives: The men and women feel so blessed to receive scarves and ties when we visit.

  • Children’s Ministry Supplies: Our Kids’ days can bring 50 kids or 300, depending on what village we are in. Large toys can cause fighting, but small candies and stickers go a long way.

  • Bible Fundraisers: It is so helpful to have Swahili bibles in this ministry! These bibles must be purchased in Kenya, so please reach out to us if you would like to do a Swahili Bible Fundraiser and we will look up the current price per bible.

  • Salvation Bracelets: These are amazing to hand out in Kids Ministry, as fundraisers, and even for our own family and friends! Please email us if you are interested in starting a Salvation Bracelet fundraiser.
